The only thrifted item in this outfit is the dress, and I adore this dress. Every time I wear it, even though it really isn’t vintage, I feel cute and well put together in an old fashioned way. I think it was only $4 bucks and its originally from target. Outfits like this make me feel original because they have a personal touch, and are not trendy. Even though I do get sucked into trends and end up buying things because they’re in, (this isn’t bad, but doesn’t show creativity on my part) deep down inside, I love a good thrift item that makes me stand out.

Am back home now and it honestly feels good, it’s nice to be back to the norm. Yesterday Ian’s residency program had a dinner party, somewhat formal, so I had to get dressed up a bit. I went through my closet and all my cute dinner dresses are strapless or sleeveless…..but I acquired major sunburns on my arms, chest and back in kauai, so I wanted to hide them as much as possible ha-ha
I live close to a shopping center so I dashed last minute to the stores in search of a cute light weight cover up, but instead fell in love with this dress from Ross
I really love the design of this dress and even though the sleeves aren’t long enough to cover all my sunburns, the beauty of the dress is enough distraction and compensates for the rest ha
I paired the black and nude dress with my nude Marshalls heel sandals, which went perfect! The outfit made me feel grown up, beautiful and confident because I didn’t worry about sunburnt skin showing ha-ha. It was very appropriate for the event and I got compliments yay! One day I walked into Forever XX1 and there was literally a whole entire room full of Mickey Mouse clothing, I couldn’t just walk away you know ha, so I snugged this cute sweatshirt. It was perfect for today’s dull and chilly weather, casual and comfortable for running errands. My shorts are DIY from old “mom jeans” and I wore them today for the first time and I cannot be happier…
Even though warm weather is fun and easy, I was kind of missing chillier days so I could layer up a bit and this day was perfect to wear my tights with shorts. I hope you guys are having an awesome week so far, happy hump day
I also have to point out, how fun are long braids?, I can’t stop showing them off guys. Shop Amazon Fashion – 20% Off Women’s Clothing
It’s been a busy week and my little worry-filled head needed a break today. It was a day full of coincidences..
first we went to brunch at Smoke and Cedar , which is on a golf course and right in front of me on the putty green was my old communications class teacher practicing his “swings”. I didn’t say hi if you’re wondering, because I would’ve had to duck flying golf balls to get to him and I figure teachers go through so many students to remember each one and he would be forced to pretend he remembered me.
Later on, we went to see the movie ex-machina (pretty good), then we came across this car parked right in front of this historic barn at the park, what a great coincidence!, I initially thought it was a prop for some photographer of sorts, but nobody was there and of course I had to pull out my camera haha.. I think the owner just wanted to show off this coolness and I responded very well to this.
Ian decided to let me know that I wasn’t allowed to jump in or lean on the car….duh.. haha
Nevertheless, it was fun taking outfit pics today

Can you guys believe it’s the end of the week already, and the beginning of a new week for others? Man! time is going to fast. I hope you guys had a great week, I was really good about working out all of last week, and I hope things stay that way.
Today am wearing one of this winter’s favorite of mine. I’ve worn it so much just because it’s an easy and comfortable outfit (mostly without the belt). I love peter-pan collars, so cute and in cold weather there’s no need for scarfs.
On other news, I have done 2 hikes up the mountains in one week! Can life get any better than this haha. I literally want to hike all over Washington, there is so much natural beauty to be explored, and there’s nothing better than being out in the mountains after a long work week, even though one of my patient thinks I torture myself doing this, he asked me yesterday if my back was hurting from all the hiking haha
Have a lovely end of the weekend friends, feel free to comment if you like my outfit 🙂
Our mission in life is not to merely survive but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, compassion, humor and some style
I am glad to see my sister has some stripes obsession like I do.
I hope y’all have a great start to the week, I am definitely looking forward to mine hoping to achieve a lot this month. Enjoy the sister style and hopefully we get to see more of her in future ✌️😘
This is definitely my favorite winter dress from F21. It was love at first sight when I saw it one lovely evening after binge-watching madmen and feeling very “1960s”. I adore 1960s fashion like no-one does!!!, so cute and perfect.
Lately I have been finding a lot of inspirational personal blogs that have sparked something inside in terms of fashion. I hate dressing like a slob, especially because my work involves wearing scrubs that are not flattering at all, and I wear them almost every single day of the week. Therefore putting an outfit together is rather important. I am the kind of person who gets dressed up to a coffee shop to people-watch (especially tacoma or Seattle coffee shops where i get to see eccentric fashion styles that just make me happy)
Street style is definitely my thing, i love seeing people in the streets with all their different personal tastes. That’s why I fall hard in love with independent fashion bloggers that are raw and realistic, style comes in all shapes and sizes and it is important for girls of all sizes to feel beautiful through whatever it is they decide to express themselves through.
I had the epiphany that light was laughter and laughter was light, and that this was the secret of the universe 🙂
If you can’t tell by the topic that this post is about my latest favorite book then you need to grab yourself a copy. The Goldfinch is by far one of the best books I’ve read/listened to in a while. I read at least one book a month now that I’m not in school, and I have a grown-up full-time job, meaning I don’t have as much “free” time as I used to, so I try as much as I can to sneak in a book. Most of the time I use audible to listen to books on my commute to work (about 30-45 mins), and saves me from the public humiliation of displaying my dance moves to fellow drivers on the I-5 (I can’t pass on a good song if you know what I mean 😉 ). Anyhow, if you’re a bookworm and looking for a good book, the Goldfinch will not disappoint. It is a drama that made me cry and laugh out loud alone in my car.
On other news, here’s a weekend recap: I had the best weekend with some of my girlfriends I hadn’t seen in a while, I got to see Taken 3, which was AMAZING! Here are some pics of my outfit and deets 🙂
Black top – F21
Basic blue jeans – H&M
Antique gold necklace – F21
Guess who’s on my blog today?
My little sister Ess. She is very stylish and am always looking forward to seeing what she’s put together, so I decided to share her style here.
I love how well the pieces complement each other. A simple black and white outfit gone edgy through the faux leather pants, well balanced by the leopard print flats and brought to life by the very chic coral bag that I dropped dead for (wishing it was mine).
I hope you all love this outfit as much as I do and keeps your eyes peeled for the next 😃
