When I put together this outfit I was amazed at how well everything went together, because I have had this items in my closet for a long time and never thought to pair them together. I love when I can shop my own closet instead of spending money buying new “trendy” items every season, like seriously?, that is not real life…at least in my opinion, but no offense to more trendy people who go in that direction, I love watching the trends anyway, am just too poor haha, I digress, I just want you to know that looking good doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg.

Here are some spring quotes for you:
Spring will come, and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get…warmer. – Anita Krizzan

I’m sorry for the things I said when it was winter
If we had no winter the spring wouldn’t be so pleasant.
OK….my post title is inspired by what I am currently reading; where’d you go Bernadette by Maria Semple, pretty good book and the story is about a Seattle family which is a plus, I love reading books based where I currently live. So my outfit is super simple with a splash of color/spring feel, very comfortable and can be worn both at daytime to run errands or at night for a drink or casual party if you wear some heels and add a cute statement necklace. I thought it was funny at first when I found this floral blazer because I wouldn’t have purchased it if not for having seen someone wearing it that day, so when I saw it….I was like..hell yeah, I could totally rock this!

Totally out of the blue, but when I was writing this post an ad came on T.V about “female inc.” some sort of female empowerment program that inspires females to be bold and proud of who they are, showcase their talents, try out their abilities without fear etc.. and I thought of how scared I was at first to publicize my blog..I honestly was very against it because I was scared, when taking outfit pics outdoors I felt kind of silly and vain even…like seriously, I am not like the best dressed female in town, am horrible at doing my own make-up/hair….but seeing how other bloggers owned their personal taste and put themselves out there(despite the mean comments from some people), my insecurities fell, I got inspired to share and get to have a creative outlet I enjoy. If you don’t feel like a rockstar and frequently compare yourself to others, let that fall behind and chose to be bolder, confident in your own way. “Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the common place, the slaves of ordinary” – Cicel Beaton

On my recent shopping trip I scored this maxi on the sale rack from Charlotte Russe, it was the only maxi in size “small” and I had to get it! Back then when I was in high school, I remember maxi skirts and dresses being the “it”, but none of them would fit me because I was too short. I haven’t changed much in terms of size, still 5’1″ haha, and maybe gone up a size or 2, depending on type of clothes. I had given up on maxis, but when I saw this skirt at the store and it fit me perfectly, I thought to my self…..the stars have finally aligned…
Skirt & ring//Charlotte Russe
I know some ladies like maxis that literally sweep the floor, but this is just fine with me…the back is slightly longer and the front comes up a little due to the ruched detail on one side. This maxi is so perfect for the spring and summer, am so glad I found it.
Initially I wanted to pair the skirt with a white top for a classic black and white look but I thought this grey top would make it more unique, it has the white lace detail at the front, so the outfit isn’t too dull. I tucked in the top because its flared at the bottom.
Have a lovely week guys, sending good vibes your way.
